CISOSHARE and UpSkill OC Cyber Security Training

Bringing Knowledge and Experience to Capable People

Cyber security is one of the fastest-growing carrier fields today. Companies are spending more time focusing on security and need more qualified individuals to work in specialized roles. The problem is that existing certification programs don’t emphasize the right skills.

We look for candidates with specific aptitudes rather than experience or specific backgrounds. You don’t need technical skills to start your career in cyber security — successful professionals need to focus just as much on interpersonal and soft skills as technical security knowledge.

If you’re a quick learner, work well in teams, and think logically, you have what it takes to work in cyber security.

How the Class Works

Participants begin with training with a month of foundational training at United Way’s facilities in Irvine to learn the basics of how to navigate the cyber security discipline.

After the class, participants are invited to CISOSHARE to work directly with our security experts. Candidates receive hands-on, role-specific training in three cyber security positions that are the most commonly needed: third-party risk assessors, vulnerability analysts, and policy analysts.

Finally, participants will have the opportunity to work directly on projects within partner businesses to further develop and refine their skills with challenges only found in real projects.
